Things I would like to change about my degree program

Just yesterday, I was discussing this with some classmates. I study film at FCEI, and we share theoretical courses with journalism every semester. These courses are interesting and I think that they, in a way, contribute to understanding the world, but I think some of them have a lot more to do with journalism than with film, especially in an artistic way. I'd love to have more practical courses, more opportunities to specialize in our areas of interest, and participating more on film projects. We don't get to film much, only once per semester in the second year and just once in the rest of the years.  I also believe the college should support us more with internships. It's not fair that when we do our mandatory internships, we can't use them to justify missing classes. I don't understand that, especially since internships are part of our curriculum. We should have more flexibility for internships and for participating in film projects in general.  About infraestruc

Time travel to the past or future

I've always been fascinated by the idea of time travel, and if I could choose, I'd love to go back to the exciting 1970s. This period of time has always intrigued me because it was very important for music, movies, politics, and culture. The '70s saw the rise of famous music styles like disco and punk, with bands like ABBA and artists like Patti Smith and Lou Reed. I'm particularly interested in the music of this time because many of my parents' favorite bands, like Fleetwood Mac, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Serú Girán, Sui Generis, and others, were from that era. It was really a golden age for rock music. In the world of movies, the '70s were when classic directors like Scorsese, Coppola, and Spielberg emerged, creating films like 'The Godfather'. Culturally, the 1970s were a time of experimenting and important social changes. In Chile, it was a period marked by politics, such as the Popular Unity and the subsequent coup.

My dream job

My dream job: One of the dream jobs I would like to have in the future is to work in art direction as a set designer or costume designer for a period film or TV series production. I think that in terms of the skills I need for this, it's to be observant and hardworking, I need to learn from the experience, from the sets I have the opportunity to work on, from the people I meet in the same work area who always teach me new things, and also to be extremely curious and find out how things are done in the movies that interest me. I'm not entirely sure about the salary for someone in this specific field, I should; I don't imagine very big sums of money. However, that's why I think it's important to specialize in the field. I would like to earn a scholarship and study the Master's in Art Direction at the Superior School of Cinema and Audiovisuals of Catalonia. When I had the chance to visit that school on a trip some time ago, I visited the art direction master's

My first trip alone

The best holiday ever My most memorable trip was in September 2021. That year, I postponed my university studies and it was the first time I traveled alone. I went to Spain for two months. Initially, the idea of the trip, apart from having a good time, a nice holiday, was to see if there was the possibility of continuing my studies in Spain. I was lucky that my uncle lives in Bilbao in the north of the country, so that's where I arrived. I spent several weeks there, went into the mountains, visited a location where Game of Thrones had been filmed, which was very exciting, and I,on my own, visited most of the city's museums and did a lot of walking. After that, I went to the place I wanted to visit the most, Barcelona, where I was truly alone for a whole month. I stayed in a hostel for a few days, met foreigners, spoke a lot in English, and discovered that I was much more sociable than I thought. In that city, I was also lucky that a friend happened to be doing a master's de

Greece, a place I´d always wanted to visit

A country that I would like to know: Greece When I was a child, my father used to tell me lots of stories and myths from Greece. He had never been there, but he really wanted to. So, I started to have the same interest in this country, planning that one day we would visit it together. I remember watching Hercules and being amazed by the mythology that was represented through funny cartoons and really good songs. Later, in my teenage years, I watched Mamma Mia and dreamed of visiting the islands of the country and all their beautiful beaches. I'd still really like to visit; it's not a country where I plan on living, studying, or working, but I'd really like to take a big vacation and see every part of the country, learning everything about its long history, seeing all its old architecture, and trying every typical food they have, even though I am very picky with food and I've seen pictures of it and they all seem a little bit weird to me.
